UNION Coins – 1923-1960 These coins vary in silver content. From 1970-1976 – R1- coins only issued in collectors sets and are worth bullion value. An easy way to check if your R1 coins are silver is by using a magnet, a fridge magnet will do. If the R1 coins stick to the magnet it is not silver and only worth face value. I will also buy the silver commemorative series.
